Skywalker update 6

hey so i finally get back to the skywalker project.....but since i was having some difficulty on the sculpting part of the face. I tried to approach this project in another direction. So I started with building the basketball. So started with a quarter of the sphere and redirecting the flow of the geometry. Then followed by combining all the pieces together, UV the model, and imported back to zbrush. In zbrush part, first recreate the alpha map of the basketball leather in photoshop and starting to paint away the displacement map with dragrect stroke. However in the end I didn't really like the uneven bump. Guess I will continue redo this part again tomorrow :D as always let me know wut u think :)

Zbrush Qucik Sketch session 2

hey guys, so I been wanting to post this sketch for a while. But got caught up with a lot of different stuff. Anyhow, so I follow up with one of the 5 mins sketch design that i did couple weeks ago and to start adding detail to the character. Overall the detail of the painting really turn out gruesome in a way...I guess my next approach to the next design is still going to be creature.....but more subtle :D As always feedback are welcome!!

Been a bit crazy with stuffs and wasn't able to squeeze out time to blog T_T......Anyhow, I came across this animation over the week and really enjoy the style of the animation. Although the title of the animation is a bit provocative....but I still can't resist to not check out what is the animation about....and it turn out great ^0^

I just watched it again before this post....and i still don't get the animation lol. I assumed they want to keep it abstract. I am still amazed with the style how he created the animation. Follow up with the making of the animation. Amazingly he instead of doing this in typical rotoscope work in AE he did it in the most traditional way. AVATAR Shot Breakdown - Weta Digital

Are you still thinking about AVATAR after 2 months later? Are you still wondering how they did it?? I just came across with bunch of breakdown shot from, Weta Digital, who is one of the main post house to work on AVATAR. If you still wondering how they did it....definitely take a look on that....a lot of matching camera movement and matte painting.....awesome stuff to look at!!

My new interest.....ZBrush Quick Sketch

I just got Zbrush 3.5R3 and I really enjoy the new release. I especially enjoy the quick access of the "Quick Sketch".....which rapidly become my new hobby....paint!! here are some stuff i did....i start off with 5 mins quick sketches....quite difficult to get somewhere with that amount of times T_T.....then after i did around 6~7 sketches, I started to refine the shape and adding detail to the sketch.The refine part i try to keep it around 20 mins or so......Let me know what you think...

Logorama

Just came across this Oscar short film Logorama nominated and I am really really amazed with this short film. Not only the fact it was managed to put over 3,000 different advertising logo, but also able to managed to make it blend together so well. The short film is created by this french company, H5. Right now you can watch the whole short on the facebook only.....check it out before it got take down!!

Awesome additional Avatar making of video. Although I have mentioned I didn't really enjoy the story that well, but you have to say their CG graphic is top-notch :D.....Here is the link to the article from WIRED which contained most of other making of videos.

ooooooo new Wacom tablet and it's wireless!!!!!

Wacom just drop their latest updated version of Intuos4....INTUOS4-WIRELESS. Just like the name, the device is running wireless via bluetooth instead of typical USB connection. It's actually a quite nice idea with going bluetooth. I have a Intuos3 and i hated to drag looong USB cord when I am working on my laptop. So I would definitely love to get one of these to work with. Plus the device is able to charge while you are using it! Get one if you are serious with working in 3D.....especially 3D sculpting....
